Logic and arithmetic
Axiom Domino
A board of coloured regions and a tray of dominoes. Every region has a rule: its pips add up to a number, stay under or over a limit, are all equal or all different. Lay every domino on the board, two halves on two neighbouring cells, so that every rule holds.
Free in the browser, no account needed.
Rules
- Each domino covers two neighbouring cells; together they cover the whole board.
- A number means the pips in that region add up to exactly that number.
- < and > mean the region adds up to less or more than the number.
- = means every pip value in the region is the same; ≠ means they all differ.
- Regions without a badge take any values. Place every domino with every rule met to win.
How to play, step by step
- Pick and place. Take a domino from the tray, turn it with Rotate or R, then tap a cell: the first half goes there, the second next to it.
- Read the badges. A badge shows each region’s rule: a sum, < or > a limit, = for equal pips, ≠ for all different. A tick means the rule is met, a warning sign means it is broken.
Controls
- Tap a domino in the tray, Rotate to turn it, then tap the cell for its first half
- Tap a laid domino to pick it up again
- Arrow keys move, Enter or Space places, R rotates, Delete removes, Esc puts the domino down
- H for a hint
Difficulty and levels
Easy boards use 4 or 5 dominoes, medium 6 or 7, hard 8 or 9 and expert 10 to 12. Harder boards are larger and carry more exact rules, so fewer arrangements work.
